I originally wanted to submit this for a contest, but it was unfortunately turned down because it was alot like another entry I submitted. I was then asked to reformat it so it could get accepted, but I didn't know how, or where to begin. Should I mix it with other dry ingredients? Should I mix all these ingredients together in one jar and the dry ingredients in another? So I kept this recipe and didn't enter it, but the original description went like this: If given during the year, instruct the recipient to use it in their favourite cookies (such as raisin or ginger cookies or gingersnaps), or cakes (carrot cakes for instance). If giving during the holiday season, this would make for a great combination for fruitcakes and gingerbreads.
Ingredients:
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup dates
1 cup dark raisin
1/3 cup nutmeg
1/3 cup ground ginger
1/3 cup cinnamon
1/3 cup allspice
1 cup golden raisin
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Put the dried fruits and baking chips each into separate containers. Then place the spices separately into little sachets.
2. In a small wicker basket, place the containers at the bottom and the satchets at the top. Include your favourite baked goods for the holidays and year round.
