The best recipe for a hearty meal. Serve with hot bakery rolls and a fresh green salad. Simple and easy meal to satisfy all! :) Ingredients:
**in a crock pot, or a dutch oven, layer ingredients in this order |
2 - 3 lbs. lean stew meat in small chunks (do not brown) |
1 large white onion, peeled and diced or chunked |
4 potatoes, peeled and cut in bite size chunks |
5 big carrots, cut in thick wheels |
4 ribs of celery, cut up |
**in a bowl stir |
1 can tomato soup, 1 soup can water |
3 tbsp. instant tapioca (for thickening) |
1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce |
2 tbsp. sugar |
2 tsp. salt |
pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Pour sauce over the stew. 2. Pop on the lid and forget it. 3. Do not peek; do not stir. 4. It makes its own gravy. 5. Crock pot all afternoon on “high” 4-5 Hours/ or all day on “low.” 7- 8 Hours 6. In the oven, put dutch oven in at 250° F for 4 to 5 hours. 7. Optional: Just before serving, you can stir in a cup of green peas for color. 8. Enjoy! |
