This is a recipe handed down from my grandmother, to my mother, and now to me. Simple yet tasty. They sure knew how to stretch a pound of hamburger back in the day. Ingredients:
1 -1 1/2 lb ground beef |
1 green bell pepper, chopped |
dried onion flakes (about a tbls more or less, to taste) |
1 (1 lb) can tomato (more or less to taste) |
1 beef bouillon cube (more or less to taste) |
1/2 cup raw rice |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in large skillet. 2. Drain. 3. Add green pepper, onion flakes, tomatoes, bouillon, and rice. 4. Break up tomatoes if using whole. 5. Cover and cook over low heat until rice is done and mixture is thick. 6. May have to add water and more bouillon to taste. |
