Peas in a spicy dip Ingredients:
texas caviar |
1 1/2 cups black eyed peas- soak in water over night, and then clean |
4 pieces of bacon (use portabellos to make a vegetarian version) |
2 t garlic powder |
1 t paprika |
salt and pepper to taste |
i don't remember using that much garlic or paprika so use caution and suit your tastes. i also used chicken stock for a more flavorful background don't over power the main flavors with the stock. |
Directions:
1. Cook until tender 2. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes with chilies 3. diced onion 4. 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 5. half cup frozen corn- thawed 6. I have used diced bell peppers, fresh jalapenos and diced onion. |
