In Texas a pecan pie is tradition here and one that is loved by everyone. I got this recipe from my nana because my husband LOVES pecan pies. She makes her crusts homemade but we can skip that because the best part of the pecan pie is the filling! Ingredients:
1/2 cup light corn syrup |
1/2 cup dark corn syrup |
3 eggs |
1 cup natural cane sugar |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 teaspoon real vanilla |
1 1/2 cups pecans |
1 deep dish pie shell |
Directions:
1. Preheat to 350 degrees in oven. 2. Stir the first six ingredients thoroughly using a spoon. Mix in pecans. 3. Pour into pie crust. 4. Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool for 2 hours. |
