Hearty, tasty and very easy. No pre-soak required. Ingredients:
1 lb dried black-eyed peas, sorted and rinsed |
1 large white onion, diced |
3 garlic cloves (minced or pressed) |
1 bay leaf |
12 ounces salt pork |
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans low sodium chicken broth |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. 1. Rinse and sort peas in colander. 2. 2. Place all ingredients in crockpot. 3. 3. Cook at least 7 hours. 4. 4. Remove salt pork and bay leaf. |
