Another gem from Better Homes and Gardens. I make this without the beef for a vegetarian meal. I also like to use brown rice and add 1/3 cup barley. It will take much longer to cook with brown rice and barley. Ingredients:
8 ounces steak |
1 tablespoon oil |
3 1/2 cups beef broth |
1 cup water |
1 cup baby carrots |
1/3 cup rice |
1 tablespoon ginger, grated |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
2 cups broccoli, chopped |
1/4 cup green onion |
3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce |
1 teaspoon sesame oil |
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
Directions:
1. Cook the beef, set aside. 2. Boil broth, water, carrots, rice, ginger and garlic 15 minutes, until the rice is cooked. 3. Add the remaining ingredients and the beef and cook for 3 minutes. |
