1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
2 tablespoons milk |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chocolate chips |
1 cup coconut |
1/2 cup nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening until light and fluffy. Blend in sugar; beat in egg and vanilla, almond extract, and milk. 2. Mix in dry ingredients, 1/3 at a time, combining well after each addition. 3. Mix in coconut, chips and nuts. 4. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Press flat with a wet fork. Bake in 350 degree oven till golden - 12 minutes. |
