TEA LEAF SUGAR COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Conan Estate in Seagoville, Texas in 1992. Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup powdered sugar |
12 ounces unsalted butter |
1-1/2 teaspoons kosher salt |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 tablespoons dry tea |
1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water |
1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling |
Directions:
1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla the add dry tea. 2. Add four and salt in 3 additions then roll into 2 logs and wrap in plastic wrap. 3. Chill at least 1 hour then preheat oven to 350. 4. Unwrap log and brush with egg wash mixture then roll in powdered sugar. 5. Slice 1/4 slices to make cookies then place on baking sheet and bake 15 minutes. 6. Cool completely before serving. |
