From my Granny's cookbook, Prize Winning Recipes from Around the World. Ingredients:
1 (3 ounce) package orange jell-o |
1 cup black tea, hot |
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges |
1 (9 ounce) can pineapple, crushed |
1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, sliced |
Directions:
1. Dissolve gelatin in hot tea. 2. Drain and reserve juices from oranges and pineapple. Add 1 cup of reserved juices to gelatin. (Add orange juice to equal if not enough fruit juices). Stir well. 3. Chill until gelatin becomes thick. Add water chestnuts, oranges, and pineapple. 4. Spoon into well oiled molds. 5. Refrigerate until set. |
