The dish is easy to make and great for breakfast, as a side dish or a snack. This goes great with eggrolls and salmon dishes. Ingredients:
1 tbl sake or rice wine |
1/4 c tamari sauce or soy sauce |
1 tbl green tea liquid |
1 tsp sesame oil |
1 tbl mirin |
1 tsp vinegar |
1/2 tsp minced ginger |
1/4 c frozen or fresh peas |
2 tbl brewed green tea leaves (i use genmai cha) |
2 scallions chopped fine |
2 tbl veg oil |
2 cups cooked rice (day old is the best) |
1 beaten egg (jumbo) or 2 small |
Directions:
1. Mix first 7 ingredients well 2. Heat veggie oil over a medium heat and toss in the peas, stir a minute especially if they are frozen. 3. Add the tea leaves, stir. 4. Add scallions and stir fry for about a minute 5. Next add the rice and break it up in the pan 6. Pour the tamari mixture over the rice and stir the liquid in well 7. Stir fry and mix well until the liquid is absorbed and the flavors marry 8. In a separate pan cook beaten egg 9. When the egg is done fold it into a triangle and serve in the same bowl with the rice. 10. Top with a little tamari, soy or salt if you wish. 11. Great for breakfast or anytime! |
