This is a really good sauce with an Indian flair to it. This is very good served with rice. We use a tikka paste in this sauce for flavor- you can get a jar at the supermarket or Indian stores. I prefer to use chunk light tuna in this dish, but any type of tuna can be used. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 tablespoon tikka paste |
1 onion, diced |
1 red peppers or 1 green pepper, diced |
1 plum tomato, diced |
1/2 cup frozen spinach |
1/2 cup canned chick-peas, drained |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
salt (to taste) |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. Saute onion, peppers, and tikka paste in olive oil. 2. Add dried spices- saute till onion is cooked. 3. Add tomato, spinach, chickpeas and saute. 4. Add water, and bring to a boil. 5. Add tuna, and once again bring to a boil. 6. Add salt and pepper to taste. |
