Tarragon Shortbread

I have never tried this. This recipe came from our local newspaper. I thought it was so bizarre that I just had to share
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter-no substitutes
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup+1 tbsp flour
3/4 tsp tarragon
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
2. Add vanilla
3. Blend until well combined
4. Add salt, flour and tarragon.
5. Stir until well blended.
6. The dough should start to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
7. Grease an 8x8 cake pan.
8. Transfer the dough to the pan, spreading evenly
9. With your fingers press it into a firm layer.
10. Bake at 325F for 25-28 minutes.
11. Leave shortbread in pan to cool completely..
12. Prick the shortbread with a fork to mark out 1-inch squares.
13. Prick right through the dough
14. When cool use a sharp knoife to cut through the lines made by the fork.
