This recipe comes from a little book called ABC Jiffy Cookery. I've had it for over 50 years. I haven't cooked any of the recipes yet. I'm putting them on here so I can find them easier.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 (10 ounce) cans condensed bouillon
2 soup cans water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 rounds french bread
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Directions:
1. Saute onion rings in butter over low heat until yellow. Slowly add bouillon and water. Heat until simmering, then add bouillon cubes and pepper. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Sprinkle rounds of bread with grated cheese and place under broiler. Heat until golden brown. Top each serving with a toast round. Serve with grated parmesan cheese on the side, if desired.
