This isn't as strong tasting as you may think from it's vinegar-y aroma whil simmering. To speed up cooking time you may cook it in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes. This is a great recipe for tough cuts of meat as the simmering time really tenderizes it. Ingredients:
1 lb cubed meat, cut into 1 in. pieces |
1/2 cup flour, seasoned to taste |
1 1/2 tablespoons paprika |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons mustard |
2 (1 1/4 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix |
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar |
1 quart water |
8 ounces noodles, cooked |
Directions:
1. Heat oil over high heat. 2. Roll meat in seasoned flour. 3. Cook meat over high heat 3-5 minutes or until brown. 4. Add everything else except noodles. 5. Simmer on low 45 minutes to 2 hours. 6. Thinken with 1/2c. flour and 1/4c. water. 7. Serve over or on warm noodles (I like curly egg noodles best.). |
