This recipe goes with Hot Water Gingerbread Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind |
juice of 2 lemons (about 3 1/2 tablespoons) |
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except butter, in top of double boiler. Bring water to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in butter. Cool slightly. |
