My favorite food on the holiday menu is cranberry sauce, and I kept trying to find the perfect blend. I put together this recipe in 1989 and have used it ever since. Ingredients:
1 (12 ounce) package cranberries |
1 1/2 cups orange juice |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup walnuts |
1 grated orange, rind of |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
Directions:
1. Bring orange juice to a boil. 2. Add washed cranberries and sugar. 3. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 10-15 minutes . 4. Remove from heat. 5. Mash berries with a potato masher. 6. Stir in remaining ingredients. 7. Chill for several hours and serve. |
