another easy food, influenced by philippine milk fish sinigang, not exactly the same but tastes as good especially in winter or when you're catching a cold Ingredients:
1 fresh water fish or a white flesh fish |
100 grams of pork, finely sliced |
3 tbs of tamarind |
1 cup of hot water |
5 kraffir lime leaf |
1 toufu, cut into cubes |
1 cup of mushrooms |
salt and pepper to taste |
pinch of sugar |
Directions:
1. cut fish in 3 or for pieces 2. soak tamarind with hot water for 10 minutes, extracted (only use the water) 3. bring 8 cups of water the boil, tamarind juice, kraffir lime juice, pork and mushrooms, cook for around 10 minutes 4. add fish, toufu, mushrooms cook for another 10 minutes 5. add salt and pepper, taste 6. add a pinch of sugar, (adding sugar to soup might sound wierd but sugar in this recipe is only to balance the sourness from the tamarind) 7. cook for another 10 minutes, taste, serve |
