I received this recipe while vacationing in Hawaii with my sister this past summer. I had some there and it was nice and moist and sweet, great flavor. I haven't made it yet, but I just wanted to share. Ingredients:
2 cups coconut |
4 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Combine shredded cocunut, sugar and water. Blend flour and baking powder together. Mix all ingredients to a doughy texture adding a little flour as needed so it is not too sticky. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake in oven at 350 for 1 hr to 1 1/2 hurs until lightly golden. This is written to make 5 loaves but I'm guessing it depends on the size of your pan. 2. Aloha and enjoy!
