My mum called today and gave me this recipe over the phone. I haven't made it yet. A lady at her work made them and my mum requested the recipe for me as I have 4 small children and try to limit their sugar content. My mum said they were sweet and couldn't belive there was no condensed milk or sugar in them. These sound great and will make them soon. Sounds like a good gift recipe for people with allergies. Ingredients:
1/2 cup tahini |
1/2 cup honey |
1/2 cup desiccated coconut |
1/2 cup lsa (linseed, soy and almond mix, fine) |
1 cup dried fruit, finely chopped (your choice, figs, apricots, sultanas, dates) |
1/4 cup finely chopped raw almonds |
1/2 cup extra coconut |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl - not the extra coconut. 2. Roll into balls 9about the size of a walnut) with wet hands. 3. Roll the balls in extra coconut. 4. Refridgerate. |
