So easy to make! I found the recipe on the side of the Near East Taboule Mix box, and added a few things. Delicious and tastes home made. Ingredients:
1 (5 1/4 ounce) package near east taboule wheat salad |
1 cup boiling water |
2 -3 tablespoons olive oil |
1 large tomato, chopped |
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped |
1/2 bunch fresh parsley, chopped |
1/2 red onions or 1/2 white onion, diced |
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic |
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice |
salt and pepper, to taste |
romaine lettuce leaf, if desired |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, combine wheat salad mix and contents of Spice Sack. Stir in 1 cup boiling water and oil. Let stand 30 minutes. 2. Stir in fresh basil, fresh parsley, onion, garlic, lemon juice, and salt (if desired). 3. Fold in tomatoes. 4. Cover; chill for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving. 5. Serve as a side dish, a light lunch, or on a bed of romaine lettuce. Sprinke with freshly ground pepper, if desired. |
