Szechuan Beef With Broccoli from Best of Bridge |

I love the Best of Bridge cookbooks. This recipe is from the Aces cookbook and is good. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
3 tablespoons dry sherry |
1/2 cup oyster sauce |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
2 tablespoons oil |
1 tablespoon ginger, slivered |
1 garlic clove, crushed |
1 bunch broccoli, florets |
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced |
2 stalks celery, cut diagonally into 1/2-inch pieces |
6 green onions, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces |
2 cups cooked beef, cut into strips |
Directions:
1. Dissolve cornstarch in sherry, oyster sauce and water. 2. Add pepper flakes. 3. In a wok or large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat. 4. Add ginger and garlic. 5. Stir-fry 1 minute. 6. Add broccoli, stir-fry 3 minutes. 7. Add red pepper, celery and green onions. 8. Stir-fry 3 minutes. 9. Add cornstarch mixture and beef. 10. Stir-fry 3 minutes. 11. Serve with rice. |
