This is a wonderful sweet and hearty bread. It goes great with a bowl of soup on a winters day, or plain with a little butter. It is the easiest bread recipe you will ever make and I can't eat enough of it. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
4 cups whole wheat flour |
1 cup white sugar |
2 teaspoons salt |
4 teaspoons baking soda |
4 cups buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. 2. In a large bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. Stir buttermilk into flour mixture. Beat well. Pour batter into prepared pans. 3. Bake in preheated oven for one hour. |
