From a 1975 Rival cookbook. There are several Swiss Steak recipes on Zaar, but I couldn't find this one. Ingredients:
2 lbs round steaks, 1 inch thick |
1/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 stalk celery, chopped |
2 carrots, peeled and chopped |
1/4 cup chopped onion |
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. Cut steak into 4 serving pieces. 2. Dredge in flour, mixed with salt; place in crock pot. 3. Add chopped vegetables and Worcestershire sauce. 4. Pour tomato sauce over meat and vegetables. 5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. |
