A small amount of bacon adds so much flavor to this dish Ingredients:
3 slices bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces |
3 lbs. swiss chard, stemmed and thinly sliced |
3/4 cup chick stock or broth |
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch |
3 cloves garlic, minced |
1 tsp. dried basil, crushed |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon in small skillet until crisp 2. Transfer bacon to paper towels using slotted spoon 3. Drain bacon drippings 4. In pot, steam swiss chard until just tender, about 3 minutes 5. In large skillet, combine stock, cornstarch, garlic, and basil 6. Whisk until cornstarch dissolves 7. Bring to boil 8. Add swiss chard and bacon 9. Toss to coat 10. Salt and pepper |
