This come from Betty Crocker's New Choices Cookbook...I like this recipe well enough to post it...This is not the typical sweet and sour sauce...It's a thin sauce which seems to compliment the pork very well... Ingredients:
4 pork loin chops or 4 rib chops |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
2 medium onions, cut into 1/4-inch slices |
1/2 cup dry white wine (i use the broth) or 1/2 cup chicken broth (i use the broth) |
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 teaspoon cornstarch |
2 tablespoons cold water |
Directions:
1. Trim fat from pork chops - 2. Cook pork in 10 nonstick skillet over medium heat, turning once, until brown; drain - 3. Arrange onions on pork - 4. Mix wine, vinegar, sugar and cloves; pour over onions and pork - 5. Heat to boiling; reduce heat - 6. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until pork is tender - 7.
