Sweet-Sour Kraut and Chops |

Heres a good kraut and chops recipe. I like the addition of pineapple as opposed to the apples (which I like too). We love sauerkraut so this was an easy choice to try and are we glad we did. Great fall meal. Ingredients:
4 medium baking potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
6 pork chops |
2 tablespoons cooking oil |
27 ounces sauerkraut, rinsed and drained |
20 ounces crushed pineapple |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
Directions:
1. In a 12x7 inch baking dish combine potato slices and onion. 2. Add 1/4 cup water. 3. Bake, covered, at 350 till nearly tender, about 45 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, in a skillet brown pork chops on both sides in hot oil. 5. In bowl combine sauerkraut, undrained pineapple, and brown sugar; spoon over potato mixture. 6. Place chops atop. 7. Season with salt and pepper. 8. Bake, covered, 45 minutes longer. |
