If you like sweet & sour meatballs but don't like all the fuss of making balls, you will love this dish. It is very easy and quick to put together. This is one of our favorite weekday meals, served over rice. Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1/3 cup vinegar |
1/3 cup ketchup |
3 tablespoons soya sauce |
1/2 cup water |
1 -2 lb hamburger |
Directions:
1. Brown hamburger in a frying pan until well crumbled. Rinse under hot water, to remove any excess grease, in a colander. Return to frying pan. 2. While it is frying, add all other ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for about 5 minutes or until sugar is melted and boiling, stirring occasionally. 3. Add to rinsed hamburger and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 30 - 45 minutes until all of the liquid is gone and the hamburger has turned dark brown and is crystallized. 4. Serve over rice. |
