Ingredients:
1 cup raisins |
1 cup golden raisins |
20 prunes |
25 whole cloves |
1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon |
3 1/2 quarts water |
1/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca |
1 quart grape juice |
1/2 cup lemon juice |
2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons salt |
Directions:
1. Combine raisins, prunes, cloves, cinnamon, and water in a large Dutch oven; stir well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes or until fruit is tender. 2. Stir in remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain soup; discard fruit or save for use in another recipe. Soup may be served hot or cold. |
