Actress Angie Dickinson's recipe from The Sinatra Celebrity Cookbook. I have not tried it. Ingredients:
1 head cabbage, shredded |
1 onion, chopped |
1 green bell pepper, chopped |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 cup vinegar |
3/4 cup vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon celery seed |
Directions:
1. For the dressing:. 2. Combine vinegar, oil, sugar, salt, dry mustard and celery seed in a saucepan. 3. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. 4. Remove from heat and let cool. 5. For the salad:. 6. Layer cabbage, onion and bell pepper in a bowl. 7. Pour sugar over vegetables. 8. Pour cooled dressing over vegetables. 9. Chill 3 to 4 hours. 10. Stir well before serving. 11. Prep time does not include chill time. |
