One word describes these baked beans-WOW! A co-worker brought them to a gathering and by the time I went for seconds they were gone. Good thing she passed around the recipe! The baking time may be long but they are well worth waiting for. Ingredients:
2 (53 ounce) cans campbell's pork and beans |
1 lb ground sirloin |
1 lb bacon |
1 envelope lipton onion soup mix |
2 cups heinz ketchup |
1 cup white karo |
1 cup light brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F In large skillet, brown ground sirloin, breaking apart as you cook; drain. 2. Remove sirloin and set aside. 3. In same skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain grease. 4. In a large bowl combine all remaining ingredients until well blended. 5. Add sirloin to mixture and crumble bacon in last. 6. Mix lightly. 7. Transfer mixture to 9x13 inch baking dish and bake for 2 hours at 350°F. |
