                    The almonds give this sweet potato casserole extra texture and crunch. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                4 large sweet potatoes  |  
                                                4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine  |  
                                                2/3 cup milk  |  
                                                1/4 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                1/2 cup brown sugar  |  
                                                1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice  |  
                                                1/2 cup slivered almonds  |  
                                                4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Cook, peel and mash sweet potatoes. 2. Add 4 Tbsp butter, milk and salt. 3. Spoon into greased casserole dish. 4. Cream together brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, almonds and 4 Tbsp butter. 5. Spread over sweet potato mixture. 6. Bake at 350 degrees until heated through and topping has melted.                              |
