Sweet Potato Dessert Squares

A great way to use leftover sweet potatoes.
Ingredients:
crust
1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine-melted
1 egg-beaten
filling
3 cups cold mashed sweet potatoes-without butter or milk
2/3 milk
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs-beaten
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
topping
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. Set aside 1 cup of cake mix.
2. Combine remaining mix with butter and egg.
3. Spread into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
4. Whisk together filling ingredients until smooth. Pour over crust.
5. For topping,cut butter into reserved cake mix until crumbly. Stir in pecans,sugar,and cinnamon. Sprinkle over filling.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean.
7. Cool. Garnish with pecan halves is desired and serve with whipped cream.
