My family loves this recipe. I think I got it out of a magazine a while back. I occasionally add corn to the soup when I remember. This is a family favorite Ingredients:
1 celery rib, chopped |
2 tbsp butter |
2 cans chicken broth |
2 tsp chicken bouillion in 2 cups of water |
4 medium potatos, peeled and cubed |
1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed |
2 cups fully cooked ham |
2 tbsp dried minced onion |
1/4 tsp pepper |
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper |
1/4 cup flour |
2 cups milk |
Directions:
1. Saute celery in butter until tender. 2. Stir in broth, water & bouillion 3. Add potatos, ham and seasonings 4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 12 mins or until potatos are tender 5. Combined flour and milk until smooth, gradually stir into soup 6. Bring to a boil, cook for a few more minutes until thick and bubbly. 7. Serve with hot corn bread or rolls |
