I am sure everyone has a recipe they love. This is mine. I have been making this recipe for over 20 years Ingredients:
3 cups mashed sweet potatoes, i cook them then mash. (if you must you can use can) |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup melted butter |
2 eggs, well beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/3 cup milk. |
topping |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/4 cup all purpose flour |
2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter |
1/2 cup chopped nuts(i use pecans) |
optional |
mini marshmallows |
Directions:
1. I always double this recipe. The recipe given is single batch. 2. Combine sweet potatoes, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and milk. 3. Mix well. 4. Spoon into 2 quart casserole.(When I double it use 9 x 13 pan) 5. Sprinkle with topping mixture. 6. Bake at 350 for 25 mnutes, uncovered 7. Optoinal: after baked sprinkle on mini marshmallows and place back in oven. Even if it is off. Just so it is melted or puffy. I don't usually let it brown. 8. We love this hot or cold. 9. Enjoy. |
