This is a casserole dish that I make for the holidays. It always goes over well, especially with the ladies. Ingredients:
2 large white potatoes, peeled and sliced |
1 medium yam, peeled and sliced |
6 slices bacon, cut in small pieces |
6 tablespoons butter |
1 tablespoon diced onion |
1/4 cup milk |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 teaspoon parsley |
Directions:
1. In casserole dish alternately lay slices of potatoes and yams. 2. Set aside. 3. In small pan melt butter. 4. Add bacon and onion. 5. Saute for 5 minutes. 6. Add brown sugar, spices, and milk. 7. Stir until dissolved. 8. Pour over potatoes. 9. Place foil on top of casserole and bake at 375 degree for 45 minutes. |
