My favorite biscuit by my sweet grandmother. These are delicious. I like to sprinkle a little cinnamon and butter inside when they are still hot. YUM YUM Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups self rising flour |
2 teaspoons brown sugar |
1/3 cup shortening |
1 beaten egg |
1/2 cup cooked mashed sweet potato |
2 tablespoons milk |
butter or margarine, melted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425. 2. Stir together flour and brown sugar. 3. Cut in shortening until coarse like crumbs. 4. Beat together egg, sweet potato, and milk to dry mixture. 5. Stir just until dough clings together. 6. Turn out onto floured surface and knead 10-12 times. 7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. 8. Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes. 9. Brush top with melted butter. |
