Very good and very different. If you love onions, please try this one, I think you will love it. I make this often and eat it with chicken, fish, ham or beef. Ingredients:
7-1/2 cups sliced yellow onions |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup uncooked rice |
5 cups boiling salted water |
3/4 cup grated swiss cheese |
2/3 cup half and half |
2 tablespoons chopped pimento |
Directions:
1. Peel and slice onions 1/4-inch think. 2. Sauté onions in butter until soft. 3. Cook rice in water for 5 minutes then drain well. 4. Combine rice with onions, cheese, half-and-half and pimento. 5. Spoon into baking dish and bake at 300 for 1 hour. |
