This is a family favorite. It goes great with ham warm from the oven, but is also wonderful on a ham sandwich. . It is a recipe that comes from my Great Aunt Ing who was from Sweden. Ingredients:
1 cup water |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup vinegar (apple cider or white) |
1/2 cup yellow mustard (prepared, not the powder) |
1 tablespoon flour |
2 eggs, beaten |
Directions:
1. Place all the ingredients in the top of a double boiler, or in a mixing bowl over a saucepan. Make sure the water is simmering underneath and stir constantly until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. Serve warm, or cover and refrigerate. |
