A light and tasty treat for tea time. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 cup sour cream |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1 pinch salt |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Grease a 9 X 5 loaf pan. 3. In a medium bowl cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. 4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the sour cream. 5. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; stir into the sour cream mixture until just blended. 6. Fold in raisins. 7. Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan. 8. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a small knife inserted into the crown comes out clean. |
