Another good holiday biscuit variation from Creative Cooking/Christmas Dinners and Special Occasions. Ingredients:
4 cups flour, sifted |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons baking powder |
1 1/2 cups heavy cream |
4 tablespoons water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450. 2. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder and place in large mixing bowl. 3. Stir in the cream with a fork, just until the flour is moistened. 4. Add water, if necessary, to get the proper consistency. 5. Knead on a lightly floured surface, about 10 times. 6. Roll out 3/4 inch thick. 7. Cut with a small floured cutter. 8. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 12 minutes or until golden brown. 9. Remove from oven and serve immediately. |
