Sweet Couscous With Dates Raisins And Almonds |

Jewish online recipe: seemed really delcious: Couscous prepared with sugar, cinnamon dried fruits and almonds for a sweet dessert or side If you don’t have a couscoussier, use a double boiler Ingredients:
5 cups couscous |
2 tbl. peanut oil |
3 oz. water |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 tbl. cinnamon |
3/4 cup olive oil |
2 tbl. confectioners’ sugar |
1/4 cup dates |
1/4 cup raisins |
1/4 cup almonds, chopped |
Directions:
1. Cover couscous with cold water and let stand for 15 minutes, then drain. 2. Add peanut oil, 3 ounces water, salt and cinnamon. 3. Mix well using your hands to break up clumps. 4. Place the couscous in the top of a couscoussier with boiling water and steam for 30 minutes. 5. Return couscous to a bowl and mix in olive oil then return to the couscoussier and steam for another 30 minutes. 6. Serve the couscous hot, arranged in a cone shape on a large serving platter. 7. Sprinkle with confectioners; sugar, dates, raisins and almonds. |
