Use couscous for this delicious sweet side dish/dessert Best served when freshly prepared Ingredients:
1 cup couscous |
2 cups fruit juice |
1/4 cup ground almonds |
1/4 cup ground pistachios |
2 tbs. rose water |
6 tbs melted butter |
1/4 cup each finely ground blanched almonds and pistachio nuts . |
topping |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1/2 to 1 tabs. cinnamon . |
surround with 1 cup candy-coated almonds |
Directions:
1. Follow basic pkg directions for steaming couscous using fruit juice as the liquid ( could be apple juice, berry juice, pomegranite juice etc. ) 2. Add rosewater 3. Stir in melted butter 4. Stir in nuts 5. Mound couscous on a platter and top with the sugar, cinnamon and candied nuts |
