This cornbread loaf is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite stew, ham and beans, soup, or fried fish! Ingredients:
2 cups cornmeal |
2 cups buttermilk |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 cup white sugar |
3 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 5x9-inch loaf pan. 2. Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, salt, and baking soda in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. 3. Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean or with moist crumbs, about 1 hour. |
