This pie is a favorite in our family, some times I substitute 1/2 the cherry pie filling for cranberry relish and it's amazing. I get asked to make this all the time! Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1/2-1 cup chopped nuts |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup soft butter |
8 ounces soft cream cheese |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
1 cup powdered sugar |
21 ounces cherry pie filling |
1 cup sweetened whipped cream (don't use frozen whipped topping) |
Directions:
1. Crust and Topping:. 2. mix ingredients until crumbly. 3. Spread on cookie sheet and bake 375 for 15-20 minute until golden browned, stirring once while baking. 4. Reserve 1/2 cup of the crumbs for topping and press the remaining in the bottom of pie dish. 5. Filling:. 6. Blend 1st three ingredints until smooth. 7. Spread over crust. 8. Fold pie filling into whipped cream and spoon over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. 9. Chill 1-2 hours before serving. |
