Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup butter or margarine |
2/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. 2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Flour hands, and shape dough into 1 1/2-inch balls. Place biscuits 1 1/2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. |
