Ingredients:
1 (16 1/3 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits |
8 teaspoons butter or 8 teaspoons margarine |
4 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and halved (small to medium size) |
3/4 cup sugar |
3/4 cup water |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Lightly grease 13x9 inch glass baking dish. 3. Flatten biscuits with rolling pin. 4. Place 1 teaspoon of butter in the core area of each apple half. 5. Wrap each biscuit around 1 apple half. 6. Place seam side down in greased baking dish. 7. Combine sugar, water, melted butter, and vanilla. 8. Pour over dumplings. 9. Sprinkle cinnamon over dumplings. 10. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender. |
