SWEET AND SPICY ALMONDS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Norvell Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
1 cup sliced almonds |
1 tablespoon butter melted |
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar |
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/4 teaspoon chili powder |
1/8 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Stir together almonds and butter in a small bowl. 2. Combine sugar, cumin, chili powder, red pepper and salt and pour over almonds. 3. Toss gently to coat then spread on lightly greased baking sheet. 4. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes then cool. |
