Sweet and Sour Sauce for Poultry |

I have not tried this recipe. I'm posting this recipe for safe keeping. I found this recipe at Tops Market courtesy of EnLitened Kosher Cooking. Wonderful with any meat, including turkey or even fish. This amount is good for 2-8 pieces of chicken or fish, or a 3-4 pound roast. Serving size is 2 tablespoons. Exchanges: Free exchange 1. Ingredients:
1/2 cup vinegar |
1/2 cup semi dry red wine |
1 tablespoon paprika |
3 fresh garlic cloves, peeled and minced |
1/2 cup onion |
1/2 cup leek |
1 tablespoon potato starch or 1 tablespoon cornstarch |
4 -6 teaspoons sugar, substutite equal to 1/4 cup sugar (4-6 packets) |
2 tablespoons apricot jam, melted (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a small-medium bowl, mix all the ingredients together. 2. Place in a plastic bag with your choice of beef or poultry. 3. Shake until it is coated and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 2 hours. Bake or cook the meat the way you would normally. Baste often during cooking. |
