a tangy dish that makes a refreshing summer side Ingredients:
2 cups cucumbers, peeled, thinly sliced |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup onion, thinly sliced |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1 tablespoon water |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon dill weed |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
Directions:
1. place cucumber slices in a bowl - sprinkle with salt and add cold water to cover. 2. refrigerate 30 minutes.then drain well. 3. add onions. 4. combine remaining ingredients; pour over cucumbers and onions and toss lightly. 5. chill one hour or longer, tossing occasionally - before serving. |
